With a background in Industrial Engineering from the University of Windsor, Canada, Datuk Sia began his journey in manufacturing in 1984 as a Production Engineer in a polyester fibre zipper company. Over the years, he took on leadership roles in industrial and sewing thread manufacturing, gaining valuable experience in operations and quality control. Since 1995, his work has expanded across real estate, construction, and the bird’s nest industry, where he has been deeply involved in processing and essence development.

As the inventor of Malaysia’s first and only patented bird’s nest cleaning technology, Datuk Sia has played a pivotal role in revolutionising the industry’s processing standards. He believes in combining innovation with tradition to create bird’s nest products that are both pure and nutritious. Through Nestlin, he remains committed to quality and responsible business practices, ensuring that every product reflects the dedication and expertise of his team. His focus is always on learning, refining, and sharing the best the industry has to offer.
